  New Trend in Dramas?

  so it used to be that all dramas were ot.

  period, that was it.. then they started incorporating a "modern day" application of the ot drama where actors in the present day reflected on the story.. then they started using some highly fictionalized nt characters in dramas (never jesus of course).

  in the past few years we've been getting more "modern dramas", just about people in the present dealing with their "problems".

  so after the district convention was over, i asked my wife what her overall impression was.

  she said, "maybe something has changed, or maybe it's your influence that i see things differently now, but a lot of those talks sounded more threatening than anything.

  not loving, not really hopeful, just threatening.

  So what kind of questions/points could I make on the way over to get her in the right frame of mind, more receptive to post convention discussions?

  I really didn't do anything specific to "prime" my wife beforehand. . . except with the apostate talk. I told her to listen carefully because its all true and they will describe me to a 'T'!

  I also told her that old lawyers saying someone posted here. . . " If the facts are on your side, argue the facts. If the law is on your side, argue the law. If neither the facts or the law are on your side, make an ad hominem attack"

  MATT2414 - I don't think it was particularly more "threatening" than any previous DC, but is just the usual "do more this, stop doing that, do more more more because, well, you never know! You don't want to end up like a burnt hot dog at Armageddon". Basically same old same old, but I think it just seemed more threatening to my wife because she is slowly seeing it for what it is.

Not loving, not really hopeful, just threatening." I said that it probably was my influence that you were listening with a critical ear, but yes - much of it was quite threatening.

  Again, I'd just like to thank the governing body for their excellent program! I probably wouldn't be able to help my wife awaken to TTATT without you guys. So much great material - keep it coming!

  Murmuring at the District Covention

  okay, i just think its kind of funny, but it's also pretty telling as well.

  all of my wife's family are pretty deep into the "truth", but they don't mind speaking up either.. here's some of their (not my) comments:.

  saturday was waayyyyy to long.

  2013 Drama: "Show Yourself Attentive"

  this is the first of three "dramas" this dc, and i have to say, it was one of the weirdest dramas ever.

  i won't go through all the details.

  maybe someone else wants to throw in their 2c.. it starts out with two men standing on the "beach" talking, but it took me awhile to figure out what in the hell was going on.

  Check out Ann's YouTube drama video, after the 'beach scene' they walk to the edge of the stage by the steps.

  i swear there are some 'heavies' that look like they were hired to keep evil unwanted off the stage, such as us. They don't look like any JW I have seen before, they are not dressed like JWs , they have a "WTF?" and somewhat frightened appearance due to the odd nature of the WT dramas.

  They do look quite mafiosa, or something to that effect. Yeah, I would describe that as a WTF? look as well!

  Part of "Human Apostates" talk missing?

  for full disclosure, i did not personally go to the convention on the day of the talk, but am going on my wife's recollection and her thorough notes.. when she got home, i asked her about the part and what was said, point by point from the beginning of the talk.

  i then mentioned this point (lifted from the other thread ):.

  "for instance, in one country a news report instigated by apostates falsely stated that jehovahs witnesses supported hitlers regime during world war two.

  OUBLIETTE - sorry for not providing more background. . .

  So the first drama opens with the character Ethan walking on the beach with the resurrected bible character Job in the "New System". The last drama opens with the father turning on the TV to see that the government is "cracking down" on jehovahs witnesses in our "free" country - brings to mind "the nations" turning on "jehovahs people" before (or is it during? Or after?) the Great Trib.

  BLONDIE - interesting, thank you. I wasn't around pre-1975, but it seems like they're going for the same effect as back then.

  Just around the corner: 2014

  this week i had to apply my daughter for ballet lessons, for the new season.

  on the registration document was printed with bold letters.

  "season 2013 / 2014".. when my eye caught 2014 i was thinking: what?

  Although I think my original hope to see a mass exodus after 2014 was a bit naïve, I still see negative growth in first world countries to become the norm after 2014 or so.
